There is no such thing as a clean computer after Virut. I'm afraid that the only sure solution is indeed a reformat and reinstall. This virus is a polymorphic file infector with IRCBot functionality which infects .exe, .scr and script files (.PHP, .ASP, and .HTML), downloads more malicious files to your system, and opens a back door that compromises your computer. When Virut creates infected files, it also creates non-functional files that are corrupted beyond repair.

Run Malwarebytes and get rid of the trojan before the system restore. Please disable all security programs, such as antiviruses, antispywares, and firewalls. Also disable your internet connection. In many cases the infected files cannot be disinfected properly by your anti-virus. When disinfection is attempted, the files become corrupted and the system may become irreparable. Even new softwares can't be installed. It means a total collapse and reinstalling your OS.

There is a problem with one of the applications or add ons installed in firefox just uninstall it and reinstall it should be good. This is nothing but an outdated version of java installed on your system. You need to search on Google for new java version and then need to download and install it on your system.

Your system is badly infected and we must be sure to find and remove all the malware. Stopping the Real Time protection of Spybot and AdAware is essential to allowing the cleaning programs to function correctly. Depending on the Adobe Flash player version currently installed in the system, it will download malicious SWF file and opens another malicious URL containing the stage 2 downloader. These SWF files have identical file size (1664 bytes) which suggests that they could be autogenerated or manually modified to change the URL or the return address in the shellcode.

The best way to fix a corrupted Internet Explorer 8 is by uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 from add or remove programs. Then you can download and install Internet Explorer 8 on your machine. Maybe because of some unknown tags or the files are simply over crafted that effectively defeats the parsing and dumping ability of the tools.
